How to request medical leave as an employee

We explain how to request your leave, whether it is for maternity, paternity, or any type of medical leave.

Requesting medical leave from the Web

  • Go to Requests > Absence > Medical Leave. You can also do this from My Profile > New Request > Medical Leave.

  • Once there, a form will appear that you need to complete. You must enter your name, the type of medical leave you are requesting, and the start and end dates, if you have them. Most likely, when you start the request, you will only have the start date. Therefore, if you do not know the end date, you should leave the end date field blank.
  • Attach the medical leave document if your doctor has provided it. If your doctor has not given you the document, you can indicate in Notes (by clicking on "add description") that you do not have a PDF document to upload.
  • In addition, in the Add Description section, you can include any other details you want to add about the leave process.
  • Once we have created the request (by clicking on Send), a Comments field will appear where we can add any clarification if necessary. Remember, this section is a direct chat with the person who will approve your leave. In this section, you can send a direct message about the leave request so that your supervisor receives it.
  • To finish, click on Save.
Your supervisor will receive the leave request and validate it if everything is correct. The request will not be finalized and approved until all the necessary data is included (for example, the end date of your leave).

Requesting medical leave from the App

  • From the TramitApp Employee app, click on the Requests section > ➕ icon, and select Create a Medical leave request.
  • On the next screen, you will be prompted to take a photo of the certificate if you have it, or you can add it later if you receive it. Select the type of leave from the dropdown menu and mark the start date under "From" and, if known, mark the end date under "Until". Most likely, when you start the request, you will only have the start date. Therefore, if you do not know the end date, you should leave the "Until" field blank.

How to modify the medical leave request or add a certificate?

If you need to provide additional documents, but the supervisor has already closed the request, you must ask them to reopen it. This way, the platform will allow you to modify the request or add information or the medical document if you have it.

You should not open a new request to add more documents or information to an already created leave. You should not create requests that duplicate the information, but instead modify the one we have, as the platform will detect that a request with those dates already exists.

How to Inform of your return to work?

Once the medical leave has ended, if the end date was not included in the request because it was unknown, you will need to provide this information.

If the administrator or supervisor has already closed the request, you will need to request that they reopen it so you can add this information. If the request was left pending, you can directly edit it to include the return date or add the corresponding certificate.

After that, click on Save.
